Mrs. Childs’ NCMS CSE students practiced using the engineering design process to build foil boats. Students were given one piece of foil, two straws, and 30 minutes to come up with ideas, make a plan, and build and test each design. The objective was to hold as many penny people as possible. The most impressive design held 227 penny people. Designers for the winning boat were Lacey Rogers and Lillie Johnston.
