You Wouldn’t Want To Be A Slave In Ancient Greece by Fiona Macdonald is a light-hearted look at how slaves were treated in ancient Greece. This book is on the 5.0 reading level and is currently available to check out in the library along with 34 books in the same series.
 


Tourist Trap,
a book by Charles Ogden, is a wacky and weird book. It is about twins Edgar and Ellen scheme to thwart the mayor’s tourism initiative, which, if successful, would destroy the town’s junkyard, the twins’ favorite playground, foraging spot, and home to their beloved carnivorous plant, Bernice. This book is on a 6.0 reading and is currently available to check out in the library.
 


Across The Puddingstone Dam
is a very good book.  Melissa Willey wrote it. It is on a 5.4 reading level. Charlotte Tucker’s eleventh year brings changes in life as well as her family’s life.  Charlotte attends school, meets her mother’s oldest brother and watches the birth of her baby brother. There is also a dam building near their home in Roxbury, Massachusetts. The library has the whole series of The Little House.

The GFWC-MFWC Futura Club of Philadelphia donated to the NCMS Library an assortment of popular classics.  Those titles include A Journey to The Center of the Earth, Alice In Wonderland, Black Beauty, Gulliver's Travels, Heidi, Little Women, Adventures of Robinson Crusoe, The Red Badge of Courage, Kidnapped, Peter Pan, and Treasure Island.  On behalf of NCMS, Mary Harrison, Librarian,  thanks Dorothy L.
