Class News

I want to thank each of you for sending in so many of the items on the wish list!  So far, we have gotten off to a great start this month.  The children looked so cute  when we had our pajama and hot cocoa party.  They also did an excellent job of singing at the Neshoba County Nursing Home.  The residents just love getting a chance to see our children.  I have attached a picture of our class from this trip.

We will begin testing for report cards the week of Dec. 10.  Each student is expected to recognize 100% of their letter/sounds and numbers 0-15.  Some other skills that will be tested are recognizing and producing rhyming words, extending and reproducing an ABC pattern, and identifying beginning and ending sounds.  I also will continue testing sight words and working in our reading groups until our last day before Christmas vacation.

Don't forget that we will be exchanging gifts this year in our classroom.  Each student is expected to bring one gift (girls bring for a girl and boys bring for a boy).   Please label these presents, To a BOY or To a GIRLS, From (your child's name).  The gifts should cost no more than $5.00 and be brought to school by Tuesday, Dec. 18th.  We will exchange gifts during our class Christmas party on Thursday, Dec. 20th at 9:30.

We have a trip planned to Meridian, on Thursday, January 10th, to watch Peter Pan at the Meridian Little Theater.  The cost of this trip is $3.50.
